LABORATORY PROCEDURES FOR ANIMAL & HUMAN CELL LINES

REFERENCE NO: AHC/1998/1/1.6

TITLE: TRACEABILITY OF DATA

All collection data should be traceable. This can be achieved by keeping record books (or other forms of recorded data) and/or protocol forms containing the following information:

  • description of the activity (title, introduction, clearly laid out results, appropriate interpretations/conclusions and actions)
  • date of the activity
  • name of the person executing the activity

All books, forms and files used to record this information have to be archived.

Laboratory record books should be reviewed regularly by a senior member of staff who is familiar with the work being recorded.
