LABORATORY PROCEDURES FOR ANIMAL & HUMAN CELL LINES REFERENCE NO: AHC/1998/2/1.2 TITLE: ACCESSION CRITERIA Accession criteria The DSMZ welcomes the submission of new cell lines to be accessioned to the cell bank. However, expansion, quality control, characterisation and distribution of cell lines are very costly processes requiring considerable time and effort and financial support from the government. For this reason, evidence of utility and demand for each particular cell line is necessary before accessioning.
If one of these criteria is met and if the cell line is tested mycoplasma contaminated, INRC tries to eradicate mycoplasma. Passage number is not mandatory.
