TITLE: OUTSTANDING ORDERS/ ON HOLD REPORT

INTRODUCTION

When there is to be a delay in despatching an order the customer is informed and the order put on hold.

PROCEDURE

  1. A report is printed on a regular basis from the system and checked to see if any orders are due to be put in availability check (Check date delayed and count approximately 4 days prior to official delay date).
  2. After orders have gone through availability check:

CHECK if orders have been put on order or on hold.

  1. If on hold and if the order is very old notify customer of despatch.
  2. If placed back on hold: note down new delay date and notify customer of further delay.

If delayed for a long time sometimes other actions need to be taken:

- offer an alternative cell line

- offer a growing culture rather than a frozen ampoule

If no response is received from customer to a fax notifying of delay then check customer name and fax number. If necessary telephone customer.
